I am an Independent Clinical Social Worker with a person-in-environment therapeutic approach that emphasizes the unique strengths each client brings to the healing process. My areas of focus include supporting adolescents and adults navigating trauma, loss, family separation, and substance use, as well as individuals in high-demand or stigmatized professions seeking confidential and affirming care.
My practice is grounded in the belief that every individual has existing capacities for resilience and growth. I work from a sex-positive, trauma-informed, and identity-affirming perspective that honors each client’s autonomy and lived experience. Many of my clients value privacy and discretion as they explore complex issues related to identity, relationships, boundaries, and emotional well-being within their personal and professional lives.
With authenticity and compassion, I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to be heard, understood, and empowered in their journey toward healing and change. My goal is to help each person reconnect with their inner strength, cultivate balance, and create meaningful, sustainable change that aligns with their values and goals.

Miekel can also provide sliding scale options for self-pay. Self-Pay is a good option for those who want to choose their own providers and treatment without constraints of insurance companies dictating limits to care.
